The Children’s Home Building Can No Longer Guarantee Children’s Safety

We are a non-profit charitable organization that receives no government funding. Our children’s home was built in 1982, and due to years of insufficient funds, it has not undergone major repairs in the last 20 years. The heating system, plumbing, wiring, and roof have all reached the end of their service life.

State regulatory bodies require the building to be brought up to current fire safety, construction, and sanitary standards before the children can return to their rooms. As a result, spaces that were once home to 50 children now stand empty out of necessity — waiting for the day we can give them back.

The “Nur” family children’s home featured in the “Heroes with Kaspi” project. The story of Tuyak Kazkenovna Eskozhina, who devoted her life to saving and raising children.

1: Restoring the First Building for the Children — ₸13,000,000

Our building has 4 blocks, so we decided to carry out reconstruction in stages. We’re starting with the first block. Once it’s restored, we’ll move on to the next.

In the first stage, we need to carry out work that will make the first block safe and reduce critical heat loss:

• Bringing plumbing and wiring up to safety standards
• Facade insulation — eliminating critical heat loss
• Heating system repair
• Bedroom and bathroom repairs
• Covering utility bills and basic operating costs to keep the children’s home running
