With the support of the Bota Public Foundation, we purchased drip irrigation systems from KazTechProm-Service LLP.
Advantages of a drip irrigation system:
- Increases crop yields by 2–3 times.
- Increases the share of marketable produce to up to 90%.
- Saves water and fertilizers.
- Reduces production and labor costs associated with irrigation.
- The low volume of water applied prevents groundwater pollution, meaning that conditions for secondary soil salinization are avoided.
Another important advantage is that the spaces between crop rows remain dry even during irrigation. This not only reduces weed growth but also makes it possible to carry out crop maintenance or harvesting while irrigation is in progress.
Since water does not accumulate on the leaves with this irrigation method, the likelihood of harmful fungal spores germinating is reduced, improving the overall phytosanitary condition of the crops.
And that is not all. Through a drip irrigation system, fields can receive not only mineral fertilizers but also systemic insecticides, such as Aktara or Confidor. There is also experience using drip irrigation systems to apply biological preparations and humic fertilizers.
Our goal is to teach the children how to install and operate drip irrigation systems. In the future, they will be able to use these skills in practice. They may establish their own agricultural businesses or provide consulting and installation services for drip irrigation systems.
