On January 3, 2013, the “Nur” and “Kovcheg” orphanages launched the project “Setting up a Vocational Training Club: ‘Young Agronomists and Farmers Station’ at the ‘Nur’ Charity Family Orphanage.” The project is funded by the Bota Public Foundation.
Project Goal: To develop professional and life skills among 50 orphans aged 12–18 from two orphanages in Talgar, Almaty region.
Objective 1: Training 50 children from the “Nur” and “Kovcheg” orphanages in farming and agricultural technology skills
- Organizing theoretical classes within the “Young Agronomists and Farmers Station” club.
- Conducting practical sessions on the garden plot: setting up a modern irrigation system for orchard trees and vegetable crops; planting vegetables using modern agricultural technologies (maintaining the garden, weeding, watering, and pest control).
Objective 2: Conducting seminars and training sessions on the basics of agribusiness, economic literacy, and financial literacy for 50 orphanage children
Objective 3: Conducting psychological training sessions to develop effective communication and leadership skills for 50 orphanage children
EXPECTED OUTCOMES:
- Sparking interest among 50 orphanage children in pursuing agricultural professions; increasing their confidence in future employment and securing university scholarships in agriculture; expanding their social network and fostering the social integration of children with disabilities.
- Improving economic and financial literacy among 50 orphanage children, enhancing their social adaptability, security, and long-term employability.
- Boosting social adaptability and confidence among 50 orphanage children, while instilling a strong understanding of how leadership skills drive future entrepreneurial success.
- Organizing open days for local schoolchildren to showcase project results, allowing our children to enhance their presentation and communication skills.
