On April 24, the 20th anniversary session of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, titled “Strategy Kazakhstan-2050: One People – One Country – One Destiny,” was held in Astana with the participation of the Head of State. The Assembly represents 17 million citizens of Kazakhstan.
In his address, President Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that the current session was particularly significant. The Assembly had gone through a long evolutionary journey, reaching maturity and becoming one of the most important civic institutions of our nation. Kazakhstan had become a territory free from ethnic conflicts. Thanks to interethnic peace and harmony, economic and socio-political reforms were successfully carried out. Peace and stability had entered every home.
“This is the main result of the work we have done together, the work of the Assembly. Today, we can rightfully say that the Assembly is the people of Kazakhstan as a whole. All 17 million! Today, the Assembly is a reliable and solid foundation of stability and public harmony,” the President said.
During the session, the Head of State presented the “Birlik” Gold Medal of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan to S. Abdrakhmanov, President of the republican newspaper Egemen Kazakhstan; O. Dymov, Chairman of the Bulgarian Ethnocultural Association; T. Eskozhina, Director of the “Nur” Charitable Family Children’s Home in Talgar; M. Paripsa, Chairman of the Ukrainian Ethnocultural Association of Pavlodar Region; A. Hamedov, Head of the Republican Public Association “Association of Azerbaijanis”; and D. Gallyamov, Chairman of the Association of Children’s and Youth Organizations of the Akmola Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.
